OUR PRINCIPLES
We believe our Constitution is NOT a "living document", and any claims that judges may interpret as they please are fraudulent, incompatible with our republic form of government, and without foundation in the constitutional text or the thinking of the Framers. Thomas Jefferson spoke of binding our rulers down from mischief by the chains of the Constitution, and we are proud to support this ideal.
We oppose the transfer of American sovereignty to supranational organizations, e.g. The UN, in which the American people possess no elected representatives. Such compromises of our country's independence run counter to the principles of the American Revolution, which was fought on behalf of self-government and local control. Additionally, most of these organizations have a terrible track record even on their own terms. We believe the peoples of the world can interact with each other just fine in the absence of bureaucratic intermediaries that undermine their sovereignty.
We believe that central banking distorts economic decision making and misleads entrepreneurs into making unsound investments. For economic and moral reasons, therefore, we join the Campaign for
We believe in limited government, and adamantly oppose the Federal Government’s continual and increasing abuse of power and trampling of the Tenth Amendment. We believe in the Constitution's principle of Federalism whereby powers not granted to the national government nor prohibited to the states are reserved to the states or the people. Federal trespass into state affairs severely limits the ability of state governments to operate according to their citizens’ wishes. We believe that the best government is one which governs closer to the people.
We believe all laws restricting the right of citizens to keep and bear arms, and tracking ownership of such arms are in direct violation of the 2nd Amendment and should be struck down. The intent of the founding fathers for inclusion of the 2nd Amendment is adequately documented.
We believe the Government MUST uphold its sworn duty to ‘….protect each of them (States) against invasion….”, specifically in the area of illegal immigration. All “benefits” provided to illegal aliens should be stopped immediately, future illegal immigration levels MUST be dramatically reduced, and all existing illegal aliens MUST be deported. This was done in the past, so we know it is feasible.
We believe both our Federal and State income tax systems have evolved into oppressive systems with corruptive effects on politicians and businesses and must be replaced with the Fair Tax or a Flat tax. This total system reengineering, rather than “tinkering” will be essential to ensure all Americans contribute their fair share and to reduce as much as possible the use of taxes for political power.
We believe the free market is the most just economic system, the greatest engine of prosperity the world has ever known, and the system most consistent with the principles of individual liberty.
We believe in maximum local self-government, as called for in our Constitution. Therefore, we oppose the dehumanizing assumption that all issues must be settled at the federal level and forced on every American community, whether by activist judges, a power-hungry executive, or a meddling Congress.
We believe that freedom is an indivisible whole, and that it includes not only economic liberty but civil liberties, and property and privacy rights as well, all of which are historic rights that our civilization has cherished from time immemorial.
We oppose the politicization of science, i.e., the manipulation of science for political gain. Government, business, and interest groups are using, at the very least, numerous legal and economic pressure to influence the findings of scientific research or the way it is disseminated, reported or interpreted at an ever increasing rate, and in areas having greater and greater impact on the lives of American citizens. These groups have in the past, and continue to, conduct various campaigns to promote their interests in defiance of scientific findings, facts and consensus, in an effort to manipulate public policy.
We believe in the right of individuals to protect and defend their lives and property without fear of prosecution by the State or legal advocates of the offenders.
Our stances on other issues can be deduced from these general principles.
